Cut is the only diamond characteristic dictated by man - the rest are a result of nature. Modern cut diamonds have 57 or 58 facets, allowing the maximum reflection of light. This is why they sparkle a lot more than diamonds cut, say, a hundred years ago, which have a lesser number of facets.
Clarity A diamond's clarity is the classification of the stone according to the amount of naturally occurring inclusions or dark deposits inside the stone. The fewer the amount of inclusions, the rarer and more expensive the stone.

Colour Diamonds are also classified according to their degree of whiteness. Obviously, the whiter the diamond, the more sparkle it will have and the more expensive it will be. In our jewellery we would not use any diamond below 'H'. The specific colour used will depend on the client's budget.

Carat-Weight
Carat refers to weight and therefore the size of a diamond. Naturally, the bigger the diamond the more expensive it will be. However, a small diamond with very good colour and clarity may well be more expensive than a large diamond with poor colour and clarity.
